Ah, the Illusion game that started it all (well, for the IP franchise at least). Play as a sexual deviant who stalks various types of women and makes them into his personal playthings. These types range from students, to professors, to office ladies. Do the right moves during the h-scenes or get busted.

hi.. i've downloaded the game.. however.. i dun seem to be able to play..
when i double click on the I_Play icon.. this box pops out and says something abt CD-Rom something
I guess it says that the cd rom is missing
how do i fix it?

i read the checklist and followed everything exactly but i get the following error.

"I.PLAY.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close."
then the program crashes on me.

Any idea why?

maybe changing the compatibilty on the exe to windows 98 might help

maybe i should explain a bit more . I must have posted that last post late at night because I never give such little information :

1) I have my japanese language packs installed. Machine is sent to japanese.
2) I can get into the game BUT it crashes after I approach the girl on the train and go right next to her ( it looks like it was going to load another scene then chrashed ) .

When u placed the contents of the IPLAY (the crack) folder into the game folder did u replace any files ? ? ? I never had to replace any files and I find that odd for a crack.

Maybe I can post the "error reporting contents" here? This way you can see exactly what's wrong. Any way to copy that to the clipboard? Ctrl + C don't work.

OOHHH, the IPLAY that is included is NOT a crack. its an updated EXE for the game, just put all those files in the game folder, replace the file that is there and BOOM, no more crashing

that is what happened to me until i found the updated exe so i understand your exact problem

Something's odd here?

Here's what I did:

1) Unzipped the file "[H-S].Interact.Play.DeathMarine.ace" using "WinRAR" (didn't recieve any error messages or anything) .

2) Mounted the file "[H-S].Interact.Play.DeathMarine.iso" using Daemon

3) Started installation from the virtual drive (I selected the 600MB option), ( also tried the 100MB Option)

4) Unziped the "IPLAY.ace" file using "WinRAR"

5) Copied the files "dsetup32.dll" "dsetup.dll" and "I_PLAY.exe" over to "[H-S].Interact.Play" ( I never receive any message that asked me to replace any files.

6) start the game with "I_PLAY.exe" which later on in the games give me the error message i mentioned above.


Am I missing anything here?

did you delete the original exe file?

no, when i mounted the file and installed the game it never added an exe file to the folder the game was installed in. I also did a windows search for ".exe" in the folder the game was installed in but nothing turned up. If i were to browse the virtual drive ( the drive that i mounted the ISO on ) I can see the exe file on there.

Maybe I got a bad Download?

doubtful, torrents rarely go wrong. try searching for *.exe not .exe?

Any ideas on how to fix this error? it did appear after executing the exe and well it was showing the configuration screen.

Any success on this? Encountering similar problems here. Tried changing attributes of EXE and DLLS to Archive and not read only.. Also moved into SYS folder.. seemed logical. No change though. Any thoughts?

I ran in that BUG too. First the screen went black, then, after a click, the program exited.
I had to re-install IP. After that the game ran fine. Also in the start menu, you should change the color depth to 32. o_O

why the FUCK do you need a crack? all the instructions are there for you to follow and get the game working.

i found the crack and also the uncensored patch in a chinese website.

I had the "windows has encountered a problem..." issue described earlier in the thread. I dutifully followed the checklist procedure, to no avail.

What did work in the end was turning down the level of graphics acceleration on the display control panel. I had to turn it off almost completely, but once all the DirectX acceleration is disabled, the game runs past the end of the first train sequence, at least on my machine. It's a little sluggish, but playable enough

It's possible this is a card related issue; I have a GeForce Go 7600 if anyone cares to confirm. Failing that, it's crap OEM drivers.

Anyway, hope it helps someone, submitted for whatever it may be worth.

I had no luck getting the "I.PLAY.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close." problem fixed.

I have an ATI X1900XTX graphic card. But anyways, I gave up on this problem. Sexy Beach 3 is my new h game now =)

poor DM, if he had to answer questions all day on the board, he would never be able to get out a release....


edit: just a suggestion, if you dont have room on your computer to keep the games, then instead of reburning the disk, just burn a standard data disk with the iso on it, then you can still mount it with daemon/alcohol from the cd/dvd drive, but you bypass alot of hassle. most of these games use some form of encryption on the disk, securom, safedisk, etc, that a burner cannot easily replicate.

About the crash when you meet the girl..., it happened me too.
I have an old nVidia TNT2 M64 (16MB) with driver v.71.84 and Windows XP SR2.
Only as test, I returned to WinXP TNT2 drivers, and I_play.exe works well!! .
So, I try "downgrading" the nVidia drivers step by step until I got I_play.exe works with v.61.77.

I hope this can help another with the same trouble .

edit: after play it a few days, this game isn't bad but i think Interact Play VR is better, with more "action" and control, more like Sexy Beach (and don't have the driver incompatibility problem)

I mean, amazingly, I can read... and that's all one needs to know. You supply all information, and I just wanted to say thanks.

I have this box that pops up after I open autorun2 with applocale, and it says something about CD-2 (I'm guessing it says I have to have it in the drive). It seems everyone else on here has this virtual drive thing, where can i get this?

Of course, it is just going to tell you the same thing I would have. Google is your friend.

As an experiment, I even googled "virtual drive thing" and got 10 pages of hits, including first page links to both Daemon tools and Alcohol 120%.

So now, if you cut through my sarcasm, you will notice that you now have the names of the top two virtual drives, and the name of a search engine to use to find them.

My opinion? I'm too nice.

i *did* look it up on google this time and they say this icon is supposed to appear on the taskbar. Well, something screwed my computer and now I don't have explorer (which allows you folders, icons and the taskbar)

IMHO, your last concern should be getting a H game to run. But, hey, you set your own priorities.

Have you tried system restore? If it didn't work, I think it's time to reinstall windows.

Or, if you really want to play H games on a nuked PC, you may want to try alcohol120%, although I can't think of a single reason why it would work.

*Edit* You have got to be fucking with me. You really don't have explorer, so no folders, icons, or taskbar, and you are trying to run a fucking H game? I call shenanigans!

I've actually been searching for the answer off and on since your original post. Found 2 other people that were looking for the same answer but they never got replies. Thinking back, I think I got stuck here too a long time ago.

As far as search strings go I've tried so many I honestly do not think that the answer is still available on the internet if it was ever posted.

hi..! i download Interact.Play and unzip it using win.rar and i click the icon I_PLAY.exe and a message came out saying CD-ROM(don't know what).why is that happen? can someone help me..
